FAQs

How often will I need to come for sessions?

It is recommended that you have weekly or fortnightly sessions to help with continuity.

Can a family member or friend sit in on the session?

It is advised that you alone attend your counselling sessions. This can however be discussed in the initial assessment.

Will you tell anyone what I tell you in sessions?

All sessions are confidential. However, confidentiality will be broken if you or someone else is in harm. This will be discussed in depth in the first session and will form part of the counselling contract.

What is an initial assessment?

The initial assessment consists of being asked a few questions about yourself, what you want from counselling and your background. It lasts between 20 minutes to 1 hour. It is also a chance to see if I am able to support you but also for you to see if I am the right counsellor for you.

I'm thinking about having therapy with you, what happens next?

If you are thinking of having therapy, please complete this enquiry form. We can then discuss availability and book you in for an initial assessment.

How do I know you are practising professionally?

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means I adhere to their ethical framework. I am also fully insured and store personal details inline with GDPR regulations. I also have an enhanced DBS.

Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?

I offer evening appointments from Monday to Wednesday depending on availability. Please enquire about my current availability.
